The very popular calligraphy class will be offered in English and Japanese. During the class, we will teach you the basics on how to use and handle a Fude-brush and also on how to draw Kanji and Hiragana with friendly but detailed instructions. I’m sure you will like it!

My name is Moriyama Chiami, and I have 37 years of calligraphy experience and am a certified calligraphy instructor. Currently, I work as a calligraphy instructor, calligraphy performer, and calligraphy artist, giving calligraphy classes once a month at the Orange Island Culture Center, performing at various events, and holding a pop-up event once a month in Santa Monica. I came up with this wonderful plan, hoping that people in the United States would be able to experience and be moved by Japanese culture. Please come and experience calligraphy, one of the Japanese cultures, and enjoy the healing experience!
